Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a process that can help people make meaningful change. While no one can guarantee results, Dr. Edmond works to create a safe environment where his clients can discuss real life issues and make life-enhancing decisions. Dr. Edmond tailors his trauma-informed approach to meet each person’s unique needs based on their individual experiences, worldview, and values. At the same time, he challenges clients to examine and change familiar habits and thought patterns. People seek individual therapy for many reasons including:

  • Symptoms of Anxiety and Depression

  • Low Self Esteem

  • Substance Abuse and other Addictions

  • LGBTQ Identity

  • Intimacy Problems

  • Coping with trauma and family of origin issues

  • Grief and loss

  • Coping with Stress

  • Anger management

  • Men’s Issues

Dr. Edmond considers his work the meeting of two minds. You are the expert on you and your unique life experiences.  He is the expert in clinical psychology. Together, you will collaborate through unique and interesting conversations. In therapy, you will examine the intricacies of your life and uncover the thoughts, habits, and emotional blocks that perpetuate your problems. By highlighting your individual strengths and values, as well as encouraging creativity, you will agree on a plan of action to create the life you want.

In order to do that, expect to speak about your life, family, and culture in our initial sessions and throughout. This will help ground the conversation to your specific needs, and you may learn something about the implicit forces that have shaped your life.
