Born and raised in Chicago, Dr. Yomtoob earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology at The University of California, Los Angeles where he also worked full-time at the UCLA NeuroPsychiatric Institute and Hospital as a special education teacher and evaluator. He returned to Chicago to attend the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where he earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, graduating with high honors in September 2000.

Dr. Yomtoob considers psychotherapy to a be a calling.  He is devoted to learning about-and from-peoples’ unique stories in an effort to ease suffering. He believes that you are more much more than your diagnosis and that even the most difficult problems can be solved. Dr Yomtoob is committed to engaging in mutually respectful and healing conversations that will help you create the life you want to lead.

About Dr. Edmond

Dr. Yomtoob works to help people cope with mental health issues effectively to facilitate their adjustment to life transitions. He enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds, incorporating cultural and identity variables in all aspects of his work. He collaborates with people of different ages, races, cultures, faiths and sexual identities. He is committed to learning about differences. Currently, Dr. Yomtoob provides individual therapy in his offices in downtown Chicago and virtually. He is also one of the Founding Members of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Illinois Chapter where he has held multiple leadership positions and works as a trainer. Dr. Yomtoob also completed his yoga teacher training certificate in 2013. He took all the pictures that you see in this website, except for the ones he is in. And, yes, that’s him doing a backbend under the arches on the homepage.
